Continued learning new functions of the accounting department such as reviewing different balance sheet accounts for errors and correcting them during financial statement preparations. I also became back up for other positions such as AP and Payroll. I was sitting in on interviews, providing recommendations and training new staff in the 3 roles that I previously covered. I was the complete backup for payroll fully trained to process it.

Administrative Assistant to the Director of Finance
-
Feb 2014 - Jul 2016
Promoted to spearhead the new purchase card system requirements and enforce newly implemented financial controls. I reconciled, set up, and tested controls for the organizations purchase cards. I oversaw approximately 222 divisions across NYS and worked with other staff to develop an online training to coincide with new written materials. In this role I reviewed budgets, quarterly reports, and audits for divisions against established policies. I communicated directly with division leaders to resolve any deficiencies so that their reports could be accepted. I frequently traveled the state providing presentations and training new treasurers to make sure they were confident in their responsibilities. I provided day to day support for divisions, expense voucher reimbursements, and answered any other I questions from members. At year end for the external audit, I prepared work papers for complicated financial transactions.

Mar 2011 - Jan 2014
In this role I processed all the cash receipts & billing for both internal departments and outside vendors such as NYS grants awarded to PEF. I prepared journal entries related to ongoing monthly expenses such as payroll integration and performed different balance sheet reconciliations. When I started I collected significant AR amounts that were ready to be written off. I also tagged, maintained, and performed the monthly depreciation for PEF's fixed assets.

My first accounting job out of college, I performed daily bank deposits, posted payments to customer accounts and performed the collection of unpaid receivables. I prepared in excel receipts and disbursements weekly for cash flow analysis. I set up new customer accounts and processed their credit applications. Daily, I reviewed billings in edit form and processed those to completion.
