Kevin pioneered the implementation of the degree level qualification for the early years workforce at Glasgow University. His passion for enabling a high standard of graduates to be recognised as professionals across Scotland was very apparent in his work. He set the bar high and was key in designing a successful programme of learning within this field.
Alison Dunster
I was very nervous and unsure about attending the University of Glasgow to further my studies in Childhood Practice. Kevin was head of the programme and on the very first day could see how overwhelmed I was and immediately offered his support and guidance. He arranged for me to speak with a Student disability worker and within a few weeks I was receiving the support I required after it was confirmed I was dyslexic. During classes Kevin could recognise when I was anxious and very discreetly he would reassure me that all would be fine. I always came away from Kevin's classes eager to read, wanting to gain more knowledge and build on that days learning. I had never felt this compelled during any other period of study. I feel privileged to have learned from Kevin and will always appreciate him for awakening my interest in learning.
