My PhD work examined the effects of resource availability and geochemistry on the distribution of soil communities. I also participated in projects that are exploring the role of bacteria in a mutualistic relationship between aquatic invertebrates. Teaching undergraduate labs (Freshwater Ecology, Plant Taxonomy) and mentoring undergraduate assistants was also a rewarding focus.
