As the ‘product expert’, I act as the conduit between the R&D team and Sales, from feeding into the development pipeline through to supporting the sales team in pre-sales and in closing key opportunities.Achievements ● Through visiting key partners in SEA, Europe and USA I have been able to enhance or build relationships and increase our profile in target markets. ● In a stage of targeted sales growth, I closed three key opportunities in the USA (Autogrow’s key market for growth). These opportunities are installed into their R&D facilities which promote future ongoing sales as they push out recommendations to contract growers based on their R&D trials. ● Facilitated sales training and communications processes between departments in a fast growing company that has doubled in size within one year. R&D Manager
-
Mar 2007 - Mar 2017
As R&D Manager I developed and facilitated Autogrow’s new vision and strategy, moving the company away from small, deeply embedded products into larger, more scalable Linux solutions that allowed the company to grow. With the passing of Autogrow’s Founder & Managing Director (2013) I became heavily involved in sales generation, revenue development and establishing trusted relationships with existing and prospective partners.Achievements ● Created the ‘Multigrow’ platform, the industry’s first touch-enabled, natively internet capable controller providing remote access from any device, without special software. o Remote access/update capabilities allowed deeper international expansion without increasing support staffing. o The powerful, modular design made Autogrow suitable for much larger operations increasing the average opportunity size by 200%. ● Modernised the R&D toolset, giving a 10x increase in performance over our existing solution. Created a development strategy for cloud-accessible IoT products utilizing this toolset. ● Migrated from deeply embedded (8051) designs to embedded Linux for core-products (x86 & ARM), allowing us to leverage its best-in-class networking/security and utilize more powerful, high-level languages (TCL, Golang, Python, Ruby, JavaScript) and database (Sqlite3, InfluxDB) solutions for development. ● Fostered and enhanced existing and new partner relationships following the passing of the company founder. By working closely with existing partners and building new relationships, we were not only able to keep the company afloat during this tough time but grow the business and obtain further capital investment. ● Established and maintained highly regarded support services and processes for all Autogrow product lines.
