Machine LearningGeophysicist project manager for high end internal machine learning projects to predict production in the Eagleford by coupling geophysical, geomechanical, geological and engineering data such that all variables from before drill to post-drill can be used to predict performance and aid in future hydraulic fracturing designs. Seismic ReprocessingGeophysical project manager for reprocessing two vintage surveys to be merged. These surveys will be time migrated and depth migrated. They will be utilized in our corridor of horizontal development in Utah. Geophysical project manager for reprocessing a vintage DMO survey. New processing includes pre-stack time migration as well as depth migration in a highly deformed region in Utah. This processing will dictate decision making on drilling a wildcat well. OtherGeophysicist responsible for managing the migration of all geophysical data [three basins] from Schlumberger's Petrel platform to Landmark Decision Space via OpenWorks. Geophysicist responsible for geophysical analysis of all New Ventures and Business Development for onshore prospects.Software- Substantial experience in Petrel- Experience in TechlogExperience in DescionSpace Show less

Given sole responsibility of ~1500 sq. miles of onshore 3D seismic data.Constructed multiple velocity models to expand and improve previous models.Interpretation and delivery of well paths for first horizontals in Uinta basin for EP Energy (one of which was the single largest well ever drilled in EP Energy's history).Worked with geologists and engineers to plan well trajectories in a highly deformed region (Permian Basin; one of the largest wells ever drilled for EP in the basin).Digitizing all field tapes for the organization (Perm. Eglfd. Altam.). Software- Substantial experience in Petrel- Experience in TechlogTraining in DescionSpace Show less

Analytics (Machine Learning)• Worked with central technology and research group utilizing a number of machine learning algorithms (Neural Networks, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting) in collaboration with a service company to predict depletion and production using seismic attributes from two 3D seismic surveys.• Reinterpreted reservoir horizons, extracted seismic attributes, and performed seismic well ties.Seismic Reprocessing• Asset geophysical project manager for reprocessing two separate seismic land volumes (~90 sq. miles total).• Performed quality control throughout the project by integrating advisors from other asset teams.• Delivered reservoir interpretations from seismic-well ties for use in depth migration of merged 3D surveys.• Assumed responsibility of the project for both time and depth migration portions.• Performed structural and feature analysis using amplitude and geophysical attribute volumes to delineate depositional history alongside AVO/AVA analysis.AVO/AVA Pre-stack Inversion• Asset geophysical project manager for an AVO/AVA inversion for newly processed surveys utilizing anisotropic corrected depth migrated gathers.• Delivered and analyzed data provided for inversion to service provider.• Utilized inversion in operations to forecast productive hydrocarbon bearing intervals in completions.Velocity Modeling• Developed velocity models for time migrated seismic surveys (~1120 sq. miles total).• Aided geologists in stratigraphically mapping reservoirs in depth volumes.• Constructed pseudo velocity model for newly depth migrated merged survey to correctly position reflectors.Discrete Fracture Network Modeling (DFN)• Expanded prior DFN model (which utilized FMI/XRMI data and convergent gridding algorithms) by incorporating seismic volumes with fracture attributes to provide an inter-wellbore fracture driver — not dependent on a convergent gridding algorithm. Graduate Teaching Assistant GEOP-421 [Petroleum Seismology]
-
Aug 2015 - Jan 2016
Taught two lab sections of Petroleum Seismology (GEOP-421). Included extensive use of Matlab for modeling the wave equation, taught to display and guide interpretation of individual gathers (such as different wave types/noise as a function of frequency) and ultimately overseeing a final project such that the students produced their Golden data set after applying processing from said guidance. Designed a "rule" book to be used in-house by EP Energy when using Artificial Neural Networks (machine learning algorithms) coupled with a Genetic Algorithm in Petrel (Shale Analytics). Non-public (Schlumberger) algorithm. Numerous production prediction maps were produced using seismic attributes for an asset team to be used in future drilling locations. These were generated without the help of a service company. Assisted my advisor (Dr. David W. Sparks) by programming in Fortran to simulate unstable earthquakes. Implemented elastic force balance equations in the main routine to allow numerical simulations to be restarted under different loading conditions. Assisted my advisor (Dr. David W.
