Responsible for strategic planning, development, management and leadership of Careers (IAG) and Work Experience ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with the mission and strategic plan 'Drive to 2025' of the HSDC college group. My role is to plan and implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the college group across 3 campuses that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks of good practice and prepares young people for the choices and transitions in education, training and employment.Employability is very important to us as are ‘world readiness’ skills that can be used in all facets of life, therefore preparing our students for the variety of careers, university courses or apprenticeships that lie ahead of them. Meaningfully embedding careers activity, employability and entrepreneurial skills within the curriculum combined with the intention that every student should experience real world learning within or outside of the curriculum is at the heart of the approach. To achieve our desired outcomes and outputs requires the ability to drive collaborative and effective partnerships across the entire college group and beyond.
