As a Crisis Intervention Advocate at the YWCA Arden House, I respond to 24 hour hotline and conduct a lethality assessment. I assist callers in completing a comprehensive safety plan. I provide hospital accompaniments to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault at the local hospital(s) including on call availability. I convey intake information to callers and complete the intake process for residents. I complete reporting requirements including call logs, incident reports, statistical reports, and other task as requested. I conduct regular rounds of the shelter and proactively interact with residents. I ensure all shelter spaces are prepared to receive guests. I utilize the 45 day program and maintain appropriate (and detailed) case notes for each resident. I speak with community groups and partner organizations to educate others around the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault while ensuring awareness of the services the YWCA has to offer and how to access them. I develop and revise programmatic initiatives to best meet the needs of the residents being serviced. I take an active role in maintaining and improving the appearance of the shelter, program materials, and any other outputs utilized by participants, staff, volunteers and other interested parties. I provide regular onsite shelter support. I attend all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. As a Case Manager I provide the initial orientation for residents. I familiarize residents with the 45 day program plan. I complete intake paperwork including establishing comprehensive file. I maintain comprehensive case notes for each resident including status of formalized goals and objectives. I connect residents with YWCA and community partner resources for healing and independence. I was responsible for maintaining offenders’ records, reports and biographical information. I managed the urinalysis lab while collecting offenders’ urinalysis and followed the chain of custody report, twice a week. I coordinated with Charles County District and Circuit criminal courts once weekly, to collect offenders statement of charges. I completed various administrative tasks, as needed. I answered a multiple telephone line, as well as transferred phone calls to the correct person. I received faxes while using the criminal justice information system to look up the assigned agent. I coordinated with and assisted approximately eighty offenders on a daily basis. I entered the daily arrest report into the case notes system each morning. I reviewed the offenders’ urinalysis results in Phamatech, Inc and entered the results into the case notes reporting system. I accessed the criminal justice information system (CJIS) to view offenders assign agent. I accessed the criminal justice system (CJIS) to complete record checks, for individuals being placed on parole or probation. I processed incoming U.S. postal mail, as well as in coming court house mail. I processed, weighed and stamped outgoing mail. I wrote informative reports to the court house to make them aware of the offenders’ compliance or noncompliance to their probation order. I wrote new arrest reports to the courts to inform them of a new arrest, of an offender. I assisted the Pre-parole investigator with conducting interviews with inmates at the Charles County detention center, located in LaPlata, Maryland. Show less
