I have been working with Kerim Somun, in various projects and capacities, for 5 years now. In the past year alone, I witnessed him operate in a supervisory role for a team that depended on his mentorship, coaching and advice. Kerim exhibited great patience, advance planning, very professional communication skills and dedication to building sustainability in this team of young people, and I am pleased to say that thanks to his work, the team in question has succeeded in carrying out their projects well. Kerim's enthusiasm, energy, hard work and team-work skills are very advanced, and every company/team would be lucky to have him on board.

Founded in 1989 by East and West Berliners, the Kreisau-Initiative’s main aim is to support the International Youth Meeting Centre Krzyżowa in Lower Silesia, Poland. The Kreisau-Initiative makes a relevant contribution to Polish-German and East-West European relations, through its networking, PR, consulting, and project work. Due to its great civic commitment of over 30 years, the association’s experience covers today a wide spectrum in the areas of project management and networking. The Kreisau-Initiative’s program includes the development and implementation of projects encouraging debates among youths on topics that currently are on the European agenda and motivating them to get involved more actively in their political and social communities. The association’s goal is to initiate debates among young East- and West-Europeans on European values, the functioning of European democracies, and newly emerging topics of mutual interest, as well as to support the integration of social and ethnic minorities. It is of great concern to the Kreisau-Initiative to include young underprivileged and mentally challenged people in international exchange-programs. German-Polish and multinational projects adapted to the special needs of children and teenagers who live at the edge of society help to strengthen their self-confidence and make them discover their own abilities. The Humanity in Action Fellowship explores issues of democracy, pluralism, human rights, and social justice. Each program is tailored to its location. Fellows are challenged to understand their host city’s unique history of injustice, its present struggles to encompass groups with minoritized cultures and identities, and the future of its democratic values. For four weeks, Fellows engage with local experts and community members, visit museums and historical sites, and engage in constant discourse with one another and program leaders. Each program has a cohort of roughly 22 college students and recent graduates. Fellows come from many different backgrounds—academia, the arts, activism—but share common values. Humanity in Action Fellows is collaborative, passionate, and open people, willing to examine and challenge their personal preconceptions and biases. In July 2013 I completed the Humanity in Action Fellowship Program in Berlin (Germany) with research made with two other Program Fellows on the topic "Teaching German history in a migrant society: Approaches to foster intercultural discourse". PEP International is an international non governmental organization settled in Sarajevo, whose primary focus is supporting development of rural areas. PEP International in early 2009. year began with the realization of a three-year project called PERA (Support to population in rural areas) in the whole territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the entire project was included 168 villages in 20 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the overall project goal is to improve communication between rural residents and local governments. The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), while the partners in the project were also League of Cities and Municipalities of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Towns and Municipalities of the Republic of Srpska. As a researcher and evaluator, I worked on gathering information for the final study - a three-year evaluation project PERA in underdeveloped rural communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The study involved nearly 1800 people, and measured the changes caused by implementing the project in 168 villages, in relation to the baseline study performed in the beginning of the year 2009.
