As a JYAN Youth Advocate I develop and implement advocacy strategies around issues affecting young people. I had to research and analyse policies and laws that impact youth and advocate for reform. I also draft documents including position papers, policy briefs, proposals, letters to the editor and press releases. Serving in The Brilanie Foundation has been nothing but a beautiful and fulfilling experience. I created this foundation out of the deep love in my heart for children in homes. This organisation was created help uplift and inspire youth in homes due to the fact that they are oftentimes forgotten and left behind by society. Adopted/orphaned children and children in homes are some of the most vulnerable groups in society. As such we dedicate our work let these children know that they are not forgotten and that they are loved immensely. This foundation truly aims to achieve a goal of impacting every children's home in Jamaica especially the smaller homes - Whether it be through in person or online outreach projects or scholarship funds and gift boxes filled with clothes and food items. We aim to aid in the holistic development of youth. Show less

I am an experienced intern writer with a strong background in blog and national news paper writing. Over the years, I have honed my skills in writing and have developed a keen eye for detail and a talent for crafting compelling content. My writing style is versatile, and I have experience writing about a wide range of topics. However, I have a particular passion for lifestyle and entertainment, and I have developed a strong portfolio of work in these areas through my summer internship at the Jamaica Gleaner. Show less
