Assisting a Masters student on a long-term project that monitors the effectiveness of wildlife passages for medium-sized and small mammals along HW 175(1) Road mortality surveys: identifying species, sexing, aging, marking GPS coordinates, collecting morphological data(2) Animal detection by Reconyx remote sensory cameras: placing, programming, monitoring and maintaining cameras in passages/in adjacent forests and species identification of photographs(3) Estimating relative abundance using track boxes: installing and maintaining wildlife track boxes in forests adjacent to wildlife passages, ink track identification and hiking through rugged Boreal terrain using professional handheld GPS units and compass(4) Marten project: assisted in installing Tomahawk traps for martens and used ground telemetry to locate them
