  • Autodesk Suite (Autodesk Inventor, Autocad and Vault) • Mechanical design & drafting for a variety of heavy vehicles such as Road Train Tankers, Bitumen Tankers, Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion, Aviation Fuel, Mining and Water Transport. • Produce detailed 3D models for manufacturing parts, weldments and assembly equipment. • Extensive work in Detail Drafting (Welding Symbols, Machining Tolerances). • General Arrangement drawings for customer for approval. • Mechanical Design in accordance with the Australian Standards AS2809, the Australian Dangerous Goods Code, the Australian Design Rules (ADR) and Department of Transport regulations. • Review fabrication drawings to maintain drawing office standards and convention. • Communicate with the Engineering Manager with respect to design suitability. • Liaise with the Sales Team and Client to develop equipment that meets their needs. • Liaise with the workshop to ensure fabrication of quality products. • Liaise with procurement and suppliers to meet technical requirements. • Inspect fabrication assemblies and products to ensure quality control. • Calculate Bulk Liquid tanker capacities via formulas. • Communicate and document Engineering change notices (ECN). • Verifying hand calculations done by Engineering. • Review FEA data to improve design. • Determine best outcome for sheet metal components via communication with CNC brake press operator.
