In this role I not only underwrite the property MGA book of business, but am involved in: revising, and updating current guidelines after analysis of books of business to expand the Temple participation, both in limits and in classes of business, with existing clients; working closely with the IT department to ensure information that is being entered into the system correctly and can be extrapolated in an effective matter for the use in the monitor and steer of clients; I have worked on creating reports and upgrades to our system to track special acceptances and to determine if current clients are maximizing their contract capacity; performed the current property underwriting audits on all clients as required including the development of recommendations and follow through with ensuring that the recommendations are meaningful and will prove valuable in improving business and results; work closely with actuarial department for reports to understand profitability within results; discussing wording changes in comparison to the IBC wordings, market standards and other comparables to help develop new products based on what we are seeing in the market place and offering up my expertise; providing contact in introduction to other group companies to clients to assist in providing new products and solutions; and liaising between underwriting and claims department on questions on contracts and coverage intent.
