Systems Administrator
-
Sep 2008 - Oct 2011
Promoted to Systems Administrator position in July of 2009 as a reflection of my growth and success within the I.T. department of St. Lawrence University. Alongside those duties of the Computing Facilities Coordinator below, I also manage virtual and physical servers (running VMWare, Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2008 R2, along with Mac OSX Server and Linux Server). Took part in the development and implementation of our new Exchange 2010 e-mail and calendar implementation including the migration of data from older Linux e-mail databases and Meeting Maker calendar database. Work alongside three other Systems Administrators to develop and implement network solutions for our administrative departments. Maintain Server hardware, operating systems, and software licensing systems.Administer group policy in an Active Directory domain consisting of approximately 1500 workstations, 40 group policy objects, and 5,000 user accounts. Tasked with testing and deployment of Windows 7 to labs, classrooms, and faculty/staff workstations in the Spring and Summer of 2010. Current deployment testing has been a success for both classrooms and employee workstations. Show less

Gained much experience in the installation of software packages on Windows servers in our Active Directory environment and administering these packages through group policy when necessary. Created superb working relationships with many departments across campus. Provided quick and efficient technical support outside of my job description as well for office and research lab environment technologies. Worked with fellow I.T. staff to produce documentation for our dual-boot image deployment process, abroad program computing technologies, and numerous knowledge base articles in Service Desk.
