As an undergraduate writing tutor for Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS) at University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), I tutored 20 undergraduate students per week on organization, grammar and structure in academic writing in 30 minute one-on-one sessions. I utilized Zoom, Google Sheets, and Google Forums to host online appointments with students as well as in-person drop-in sessions. I engaged with students on an interpersonal level to cultivate their confidence in their own writing. Show less

At Hollister, I guided customers in navigating store by answering questions to improve their experience in the store, promoted new sales in store to increase conversion, and I maintained sales floor by unloading shipments of merchandise and folding fixtures to make store presentable. After becoming comfortable with my responsibilities, I coached new employees in store procedures to make sure they know the processes. During my week-long internship at audible I developed a third party Alexa skill using Java and Amazon Web Services that would help users discover underground artists on Spotify. In addition to the app project, I had seminars with Audible project managers on the entire app project process from conception to market testing. During my month long internship at Microsoft, I worked alongside three other high school students to develop a phone app using HTML, C#, and Microsoft Azure that would collect sensor data from an RC boat on the local river and present that data in graphs. All of our work was in assistance of Laura Perovich, an MIT graduate student who was trying to make environmental data on the local Charles River more accessible to the average person though her SeeBoat project.
