  This internship intertwined with my summer research at Union college. The ultimate goal was to help kids specifically in underprivileged areas gain interest in stem using basketball. As a collegiate basketball player and a biomedical engineering major this opportunity suited me perfectly. With my professor we developed NBA combine equipment to make the connection between sports and stem in a free 3 day basketball camp. The importance of sports analytics and it's benefits for athletes was emphasized to campers. I taught kids ranges from elementary to early high school about the programming of our equipment and how measuring their abilities can help them improve their skill level as athletes, also help them later in life in a future career field. Our data was collected and analyzed in pre and post surveys from the campers. Currently, I am still working with 4th family to reach more kids nationwide. Show less

  Worked and collaborated with researchers in the Italian Center of National Research. Focused on the biophysical, biochemical, and computational approaches to the study of biological systems. Utilized the computer modeling program NEURON to participate in their research of creating an accurate computer model of the human hippocampus and olfactory bulb. Participated in research with a focus on cellular input methods via extracellular vesicles & presented findings to the researchers. Observed research on CblC, a disorder of vitamin B12 intracellular metabolism, and the quest to synthesize increased production of the dimeric form of cobalamin to reduce the effects of this disease.
