As a production design intern I have been able to utilize my architectural training to further develop creative concepts. With an emphasis on 3D modeling and attraction design I have been able to experience front of house problem solving and creative planning. Working in programs such as Rhino, Revit, Maya, CAD, and the Adobe suite I have been able to aid my team in exploring ideas, modeling potential solutions, and implementing them through architectural drawings. Ultimately I was able to gain experience in attraction and show set design while utilizing my architectural know-how.

Interning as an architectural and design intern I was able to develop 2D and 3D designs and mock ups for potential show-set elements as well as architectural features. I worked on the development of projects by supporting my team in all means necessary. I was able to review and revise CAD drawings for schematics and construction phases. Lastly I aided the interiors team on the schematics and graphic layout of their packages. As an Intern at Morton Architects I had the joy of helping design "Mountain Mansions" and public facilities for the town of Telluride. These homes had the challenge of creating a sense of identity while maintaining code and strict Historical Architecture Review Commission (HARC) standards. The budgets for these projects were large and gave us the opportunity to be creative in the design and include fun, personal aspects that many other firms don't have the pleasure of having. Although brief, my time at Second Star Group was incredibly eye opening. My spring break spent at Second Star Group allowed me to step into the world of Themed Design and how architecture plays a role in that. While there I was able to design storefront signage for the Disney Fine Arts store in Las Vegas, Nevada. This experience allowed me to better understand a project fully from start to finish and what it takes to get there, while also allowing room for design touches that sets themed entertainment apart. Donald McCreary was an incredible mentor and showed me what this industry is truly about.

    • Participant in Imagineering
      • Mar 2015 - Mar 2015

I was a selected participant for the Disney Dreamers Academy (DDA) in 2015. DDA is a 4 day workshop put on by Steve Harvey and Essence Magazine where students are mentored to follow and pursue their dreams. I was able to shadow Imagineers and participate in various workshops where I was able to spend "a day in the life" of a Walt Disney Imagineer. I learned and networked and had a phenomenal experience. This allowed me to better understand what it took to be apart of this industry, and gave a dreaming highschooler a better grip on her future reality.

Education
