      ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Created and chaired Grants Task Force Committee, which tripled PBSO’s yearly grant awards to over 5 million within first 14 months. • Designed and implemented the Emergency Response Task Force for Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in the wake of September 11th Terrorist Attacks. • Created PBSO’s Sexual Predator and Offender Tracking Program (S.P.O.T.). This program resulted in the first ever documented decrease of Sexual Predators/Offenders in any county within Florida. (See Awards) • Expanded PBSO’s Computer Crimes Unit, with increased emphasis on the identification and apprehension of adults committing on-line solicitation of minors. The Computer Crimes Unit served as the county’s computer forensics lab for the Law Enforcement Against Child Harm (L.E.A.C.H.) Task Force. The U.S. Justice Department also recognized PBSO’s Task Force members for outstanding performance in combating crimes against children. • Addressed challenges with PBC Division of Children & Families, so PBSO would have oversight and coordination of Child Abuse Response Protocol. • Envisioned and launched first ever “Assessment Center” promotional testing program for Sergeant/Lieutenant ranks. This process provides all employees an equal opportunity to compete on the basis of relative qualifications. • Created Deputy Mentoring Program. To develop highly professional law enforcement & Correctional officers. • Envisioned and oversaw construction of PBSO’s Fitness Facility, Employee Health Initiative and Smoking/Tobacco Cessation Programs. • Created Uniformed Roll-Call Training to ensure professionalism and afford PBSO significant litigation protection from “failure to train” lawsuits. Training consisted of constitutional law, discriminatory profiling, crime scene preservation and other important areas designed to limit agency exposure to litigation by first responding officers.
