At Unified Health and Performance I have the opportunity to work with athletes of all abilities from middle schoolers up through adults in improving strength, range of motion, and overall health. The environment is welcoming and inclusive of everyone no matter what type of disability they have. I have the unique opportunity of working with individuals with Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, etc. and learn how to adapt exercises and write programs in order to help them reach their goals. I also get to work with middle/high school, and collegiate athletes as well as adults with personal training programs and in circuit training. My responsibilities include working with athletes in cueing, correcting form, and spotting exercises, as well as working with the adaptive athletes, some one-on-one, and meeting their individual needs for help in going through their programs. I also help overall in keeping the gym clean and organized, and making sure equipment goes back where it belongs and the enviornment is safe and clean for all. Show less

For 3 summers I was working with kids age 5-12 on every day camp activities, choreographing and teaching dance, and oversaw water safety during kayaking. In addition, I would also work one on one with campers who had special needs or disabilities and required extra support and attention. • Senior Intern
      • Sep 2013 - Apr 2016

Throughout middle school and part of high school I was an Intern for an elementary school theater program, that put on 2 productions a year and ran 3 days a week after school. The program had between 60-100 elementary students from first to sixth grade and ran the entire school year. I started as a props and costume assistant making sure students had everything they needed, keeping things organized and well fitting costume. I quickly moved on to become a Dance Captain, choreographing and teaching dance numbers to large groups of students, as well as becoming Stage Manager where I kept other student interns organized, designated responsibilities, and was in charge of making sure everything was set before rehearsals and performances.
