      A change to a much larger Boston based tour company and an opportunity to experience and work with an entirely different and exciting travel product i.e. the Caribbean, Mexico and Bermuda.       I relocated to the United States with the Abbey Travel Group who were in the process of taking over BMIT. Here I developed and implemented a successful Sales and Marketing strategy for the company at a time when the business had been struggling and needed to reinvent itself. I managed and directed a team of Sales Reps located locally in Massachusetts and throughout the United States. Product development and brochure production as well as designing all other marketing materials including the creation of the company's first website were also part of my roll. I managed the distribution of marketing materials to travel agency partners across the USA. Relationship management with our travel agency partners. I worked with tourism bodies Failte Ireland and the Northern Ireland Tourist office and helped to secure grants. I was key in overseeing the company's successful relocation from Medway to Roxbury. Living in New England was a magical experience and what I learned there about the travel industry in the USA was invaluable later when setting up my own travel company in Spain. Show less

      Drive Ireland, owned by Abbey Travel Dublin, was one of the largest specialist Ireland Travel companies in the UK offering both packages and custom travel arrangements for individuals and groups travelling to Ireland. Drive Ireland sold it's holidays directly to the public and through an extensive network of travel agents in the UK. The company developed and was also responsible for the travel brands Ryanair Holidays, Murphy´s Irish Tours and collaborated with running numerous custom trips for Barclaycard members. After just 2 years working at Drive Ireland I was promoted to Managing Director. As well as managing the Drive Ireland team I was directly responsible for all sales and marketing as well as all contracting and supplier relationships, brochure production and distribution management.
