Project Manager & Fundraising Coordinator, Spirit Rooftop Garden
-
Dec 2018 - Mar 2020
Project Manager & Fundraising Coordinator of a future rooftop garden at Spirit restaurant/bar/event venue in Pittsburgh. I coordinated with Architects, Roofers, Business Owners, Engineers, Chefs, Gardeners and others to plan a 5,000 square foot Rooftop Garden. I also managed a fundraising campaign through ioby, planned 4 fundraiser events, participated in media interviews, wrote & received grants. The project is currently on hold due to Covid-19 and lack of funds to complete Phase II, but we were able to complete Phase I. We installed a new rooftop on the building as the foundation for a future garden, and received a portion of the planter boxes through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the Urban Agriculture Working Group of Pittsburgh's Food Policy Council. I was the program coordinator for CVIP via the Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) Americorps program out of the University of Oregon. I lived and worked in beautiful Chiloquin, Oregon assisting with many CVIP projects. These included planning for a Youth Center in town, running and organizing community meetings, collaborating with area schools and businesses, and helping re-design and administer the Chiloquin website (www.chiloquin.com).
