Araminta Campbell is a Scottish luxury textiles company based in Edinburgh, specialising in British alpaca interiors and accessories and a bespoke tweed design service. Here in Leith we have a weave workshop and studio where we invite visitors to come and see the process behind our beautiful handwoven alpaca range. These scarves and interiors are one off art work pieces - made from 100% British alpaca in the natural undyed colours of the alpaca fleece. Each design features delicate weave patterns inspired by the natural world and can take up to 5 days to be woven on one of our historic peg dobby looms. Our bespoke tweed design service has seen us working with estates, private clients, bespoke tailors and most recently a 5 star Hotel. Often drawing inspiration from the landscape, Araminta works closely with each client to create a unique and personal design that speaks of them. Production is all based in Scotland and can incorporate luxury fibres, specialist finishes and diversified offerings such as accessories and furnishings. At Maison et Objet in January 2017 we released our new wholesale range – MINTA - which is woven in Scotland from 100% undyed British alpaca by one of our small partner mills. The cushions and throws are made in Britain using our trusted suppliers and craftspeople, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of quality and traceability of production. I love being able to share the stories and inspiration behind these unique products and the chance to expand the reach and growing industry recognition this young company is gaining.
