I have had a fascination with travel since I was a young child. I dreamed of hopping on airplanes and flying to faraway destinations to see the diversity of nature and to experience the unique cultures of the world. My earliest adventure influencers were both of my grandfathers who were private pilots and each owned personal planes that they enjoyed more as a hobby than transportation. My first memory of flying was at the age of 8 when my mother took me to watch one of my grandfathers in an aeronautics show. He loved doing all kinds of “tricks” in the air. After he landed, he offered to take me up for a ride. His plane only had two seats which meant that I would have to go by myself, without the security of my mom. She made him swear to keep it straight and not do anything crazy. He did exactly what she asked and we had an amazing adventure together. I loved every minute of it, from the roar of the engine as it started, to the hum of acceleration as we headed down the run way for take off. The stomach drop as the plane lifted off of the ground, the tilt of the plane, the sound of the engine as we ascended and descended.. it was amazing. I loved every minute. In high school I got to take my first commercial flight with a group from church. We boarded a plane the summer of my sophomore year and headed to California. We then trekked up and down the coast of California “camping” in churches and performing our choir musical. The summer of my Junior year we all boarded two chartered buses and headed up the East coast to New York City. They turned us loose in the city and we experienced new york style pizza and my first Broadway musical. I spent the next years developing my craft of teaching and raising a family. I am so excited to start a new career in the travel industry where I look forward to sharing my love of travel with my children as well as helping clients plan memorable vacations to share with their loved ones.
