Assisted in the creation and development of advertisements for Safeway that were placed in various magazines and newspapers. Worked closely with the departments within Safeway and the printers to create an ad that best suited the featured week and products being showcased. Preparation for the ads began three weeks in advance to when they were to appear in print. Therefore, working closely with each department was essential in order to reduce error before the ad was printed. Graduated Acadia University in Spring of 2013 majoring in Business Administration with a focus in marketing. From my previous work experience I have been able to improve and expand upon the knowledge gained from the courses and projects I have been involved with at Acadia. Throughout my four years at Acadia I volunteered with the SMILE Program. This program works with children who have disabilities and helps them grow and interact with others in a safe and fun environment. Each week the volunteers work with their child, improving on their skills and creating goals for the weeks ahead. Working with my individual child has been very rewarding and fulfilling for myself in many aspects and I have grown from my experiences. I was also member of the Field Hockey club team at the University for my final two years. It was a very interactive and social club, focusing on team work and spirit. It was great to be a part of a sports team at Acadia, allowing me to become more connected with my University. Show less
