Working under the Director of Operations, coordinate the full-cycle planning processes of 7-8 national events each year that the Boathouse Foundation holds to support programs and services to improve the quality of life for the community of Oklahoma City. The Boathouse has been named an Official Olympic and Paralympic Training Site. Events include: USA Olympic Canoe and Kayak National and Team trials, Stars and Stripes Festival, Oklahoma Regatta Festival, Big 12 Women’s Rowing Championships, Central Youth Championships, ICF Canoe World Marathon, Bart and Nadia Sports ExperienceDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Hired as an intern in June 2012 and offered full-time opportunity upon graduation in May 2013• Manage, train and develop two interns and an assistant that support the administrative duties of the events• Plan and create site maps and floor plans for venue event set-ups• Manage, maintain and organize the event planning database and inventory/signage warehouse• Coordinate all event planning meetings, create reports and action plans to provide to the event management team • Created a more efficient system for procurement and coordinating event exhibitors, managing supply and infrastructure orders, all while working within the guidelines of a budget. • On the event days, act as the lead for all issues that arise during the run of the event in order to ensure quality and efficiency while managing 40+ volunteers and staff during load-in, run of event and load-out.The Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation’s mission is to develop and operate facilities and programs to improve the quality of life in Oklahoma City, pursue the highest goals of sports and fitness, attract diverse involvement in the boathouses and related events that generate a positive public image and economic opportunity, and promote the use and development of the Oklahoma River as a world-class urban aquatic venue.
