Assemble and record wattage draw for new computer SKUs to ensure compliance with CEC standards. Test new computer components and chassis according to SOPs as to complete thorough and concise reports for both the company and the respective manufacturers. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise and explore every avenue for solutions to ensure due diligence is done when components potentially fail. Assess designs and test results to identify probable causes of shortcomings to find innovative workarounds. Consider a multitude of factors technically, aesthetically, financially and logistically when reaching a judgment upon concluding component testing. Submit completed reports in a timely manner on each item brought forward for testing, either accepting or denying its use in production. Conducting research on projects as instructed, harvesting information on the technical aspects in conjunction with identifying the broader market to develop new products. Compiling collaborative research into an easily understood presentation and delivering it to executives to move projects forward. Responding to feedback to refine and adjust product development and following up on further research as needed. Assure that each computer upon assembly POSTs, boots, and passes hardware stress tests designed to ensure customers receive a functioning and quality product out of the box. Troubleshoot computers that do not work or malfunction in any step of the process and use best practices to isolate, identify, rectify, and replace any faulty hardware that interferes with a fully functioning product. Analyze case, cabling and electrical paths to correct aesthetic failures such as malfunction fans, RGB lighting, and product blemishes. Problem solve hardware incompatibilities, firmware and software issues as they arise with new builds and edit PowerShell scripts as needed to accommodate new pieces of hardware into our automation. Work with fellow technicians and assist when asked on difficult troubleshooting predicaments. Train new technicians to understand procedures and build a solid foundation on which to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot hardware, software, and firmware issues as they encounter them.
