HIGHLIGHTS: Completed 12 strategic cross-disciplinary projects, overcoming resistance to gain acceptance and… Show more SCOPE: Following success in supply chain roles, senior leaders picked me to join a group of just seven other specialists to deploy 6 Sigma lean manufacturing, transactional, and Caterpillar Production Systems at the enterprise level. I worked with various departments across Solar Turbines and our parent company Caterpillar to improve processes and reduce variation and costs. HIGHLIGHTS: Completed 12 strategic cross-disciplinary projects, overcoming resistance to gain acceptance and support from team members and organizations. Generated $1 million annually by developing process to collect and segregate scrap of exotic alloys, increasing the availability of raw materials otherwise difficult and expensive to procure. This process was adopted at other facilities and suppliers. Selected for a three-month assignment at a newly acquired subsidiary in Switzerland and charged with integrating the company’s supply chain processes and with streamlining other processes. Implemented ERP processes for material procurement, warehousing, logistics, supplier evaluations, and contract specifications. Executed 10 6 Sigma projects that saved $720,000 annually. Trained 30 green belts and 60 yellow belts.

Completed 6 Sigma transactional projects that improved filing processes, saving 2,500 labor hours annually (equivalent to 1.5 headcount) in the supply chain function. Eliminated $23 million indemnification errors caused by duplicate and inaccurate inventory reports by aligning internal and external supply chain processes. Pioneered employee affinity groups to strengthen professional development opportunities; the initiative was highly successfully among employees and led to the establishment of 10 affinity groups and a mentoring program.
