  As a writer, I was assigned a number of articles to write each day, usually between 4-6, which I was then responsible for researching from the news links provided by my manager. With the information I learned, I would write a compelling news story with all the details included. After editing my work, I would send it over to the editing team who would do a final check and make any other changes they wanted to format or content before the story would soon be processed and posted to the news site. Working as a journalist required me to be quick and efficient, but also required me to maintain a high quality of work. I had quick turnaround times for my work as my articles were due after a 24-hour period, so I had to be good with my time and make sure I researched carefully and wrote my articles properly.   As a copywriter, I was responsible for thoroughly researching Amazon products and writing compelling and persuasive review articles that helped consumers with their purchasing decisions. While on one hand, I was advertising the products, I also needed to keep a fair and balanced approach by informing the consumers about potential pros and cons with each listing. While most copywriters at my company typically would take about 3+ hours to write a typical article, I managed to optimize my writing process and write articles more efficiently, taking on average only 2 ½ hours instead.   I primarily proofread and edited fellow students’ writing assignments and projects such as essays, scientific reports, group projects, and more. During this process, I would make note of common mistakes and problems within the student’s work in regards to structure, word choice, grammar, comprehension, and flow and then explain to students how they could fix it. Afterward, I would give the students a chance to try correcting another section of their paper with my advice in mind to see if they understood how to make improvements on their own. While working as a tutor, I was always highly rated by my students when they completed an evaluation form of my tutoring session. I was able to help students get better grades and understand their assignments better with just a bit of coaching. Additionally, due to my secondary language skills in Japanese, I worked very closely with the international Japanese students to help them succeed during their time abroad at our college. Show less
