Supervising Deputy Coroner

The Supervising Deputy Coroner functions as the Watch Commander of the Coroner Division and reports to the Assistant Chief Deputy Coroner; schedules and coordinates work assignments of subordinate staff, acts with special knowledge of death investigations to monitor the case work of Deputy Coroners; assists subordinate personnel with the more difficult investigations and resolves problem cases.

Senior Deputy Coroner

As an investigator and field training officer, conduct medicolegal investigations to determine manner and cause of death, identity of decedents and to locate the next of kin; collect evidence; safeguard property; notify next of kin; assist and train subordinate deputy coroners; act as watch commander in the absence of a supervising deputy; testify in court; prepare reports; and do other related work as required.
