I specialize in digitization. This includes photography, development of touchscreen kiosk content, development of smartphone application content utilizing augmented reality, and database and website building/maintenance. I conduct yearly inventory and monitoring of fossil sites around the park, which includes evaluation of site quality, photography, database entry, and report generation. I also assist in excavations and with the preparation and curation of new fossil specimens. When I have a bit of spare time, I work on original research analyzing taphonomic factors that influence the quality of preservation of the Florissant Formation's stunning fossil leaves. Show less

Involved in Dr. Patricia Kelley's Invertebrate Paleontology Lab of the UNCW Department of Geography and Geology. Under her guidance, I completed a directed individual study and then continued my research on as a Honors undergraduate thesis project. My work focused on predator-prey interactions in Pleistocene molluscs in North Carolina. I analyzed naticid drill hole size, location, and frequency in the shells of three bivalve taxa. I also compared a variety of sampling methods and collector groups to examine potential sources of bias for certain techniques. Show less
