Occupational Therapy Student
-
Aug 2020 - Sep 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic lead to significant changes in our clinical rotation schedule. As a final year occupational therapy student, I chose to be proactive and arranged an internship position at George Provincial Hospital. During this elective placement I was exposed to the fields of surgery, orthopedics, acute pediatrics, family medicine and psychiatry. Throughout my years at university I have realized the importance of creating and optimizing every opportunity as one for learning. As a third year (heading into final year) occupational therapy student interested in potentially pursuing a career in the acute physical setting, I denoted time during my summer holiday to gaining exposure and experience in the field of burns and orthopedics at Edendale Hospital. Special Education Teacher
-
Mar 2013 - Dec 2013
In 2013, I made the decision to take a gap year and explore my interests. During this time I was offered full-time employment as a Special Education Teacher at Triad School in KZN. This experience was invaluable and taught me a great deal about myself, my passions and the importance of grit. In 2013, I made the decision to take a gap year and explore my interests.
