Kelly is a true leader who is organized, driven, and innovative- she is someone who always shoots for the top and lives by the idea that "it doesn't hurt to ask". For three years in a row I have been impressed working under Kelly as a volunteer for the Catamount Classic Lacrosse tournament and it has been amazing to see what she has accomplished. She is a team player who motivates everyone around her with her upbeat and inspired attitude. Lisa Batchelder Brigham and Women's Hospital

In 2007 a member of the University of Vermont Men’s lacrosse team was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He followed a treatment plan from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, underwent surgery and radiation that winter. He was then able to play in every game of his senior year and is still in full remission today. Throughout this process, the team learned a great deal about cancer screening and prevention. Ryan and I took it upon ourselves to help educate as many students athletes and young adults as possible through a fall lacrosse tournament that we started in October 2008. The first Northeast Classic (formally known as the Catamount Classic) took place in 2008 at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts. 10 Division I college lacrosse teams squared off in a day of scrimmages to help fight the battle against testicular cancer. We charged admission to the tournament and the University of Vermont men’s lacrosse team fundraised money throughout the summer and fall. In total we donated nearly $20,000 to testicular cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We also handed out as many testicular cancer information booklets as many young adults as possible on campus and at the tournament in hopes to spread the word about early detection and prevention. Over the past eight years we have donated close to $200,000 to cancer research and we have handed out thousands of cancer screening and prevention booklets all over the world. This year we will host our men's college lacrosse tournament on October 11th. The games will begin at 8:00 am and will go until 6:00 pm. All of the proceeds will be donated to Dr. Mary Ellen Taplin's research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Visit www.northeastclassic.org for more information. Show less

Part-time front office coverage for the evening and occasional weekend clinic. Tasks included answering clinic phones, checking in/out patients, scheduling appointments, collecting and balancing the days co-pays, data entry, scanning office notes for the practice, entering in insurance EOBs and opening/closing the office. I loved working for this practice and cherish the friendships I made here. Part-time front office coverage for the evening and occasional weekend clinic. Mink Brook Management is a construction management company started by the owners of Pathways Consulting. I helped the owners start the company from the ground up - answering phones, ordering furniture, ordering supplies, starting databases, attending meetings, editing and correcting the documents that went out of the office and working on the daily projects. I left Mink Brook when my husband took the position of the head lacrosse coach at the University of Vermont and we moved to Burlington, Vermont. Show less

When I started at Dana-Farber I worked in the infusion room on the 1st floor of the institute. I checked in and scheduled patients for their chemotherapy treatments. I worked with numerous nurses schedules, scheduled labs, coordinated appointments with the doctor's secretaries, answered the phones and helped the patients with anything and everything they needed while they were in our department. In 2003 I took a position in GU Oncology working as an Administrative Assistant for Dr. Mary Ellen Taplin and Dr. Timothy Gilligan. I edited their CVs, scheduled patient appointments, handled their day to day schedules, maintained their email, scheduled their business trips, helped edit presentations, met patients in the clinic, coordinated appointments with other sections of the hospital and frequently hand carried slides to the Brigham and Women's Hospital so we were sure all of the patients information was in house. I worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center per-Diem throughout college. For most of the time I worked here I was a float receptionist/secretary. I went wherever the administrative offices needed me to go to cover vacations, shifts and lunches. I learned the reception and medical secretary procedures in every section of the hospital. In 2000 I took full time position working for the Hematology/Oncology section. The residents and doctors I scheduled for worked in GU, lung and brain specialties. Show less
