- Tier 1 coach (2015): I went to The Gambia with the Football 4 Peace team as an assistant coach. While working with sports coaches from 4 local communities, we delivered a training camp with local children to teach them 5 different values (trust, respect, responsibility, inclusion and equity) through sport. This was a great opportunity and was the beginning of my journey of my passion for 'sport for good'. - Tier 2 coach (2016): As a tier 2 coach my role involved delivering practical sessions during training camps for coaches to learn how to implement value-based teaching into their curriculum's. Moreover, I volunteered to deliver educational football session in local schools and continuously fundraised to support the organisation. I also went back to The Gambia, and with a local coach, had responsibility of leading a week-long training camp in the community of Gunjar. Having this level of responsibility helped me to develop my organisational and time-keeping skills as I had to ensure everything ran smoothly. I was also able to come up with creative ways to communicate with the local children who were not highly competed in English, to ensure they were included in every aspect of the camp. -Tier 3/4 (2017-Present): As a tier 3/4 mentor my role changed within the organisation. I helped to lead training camps in 2 separate occasions in South Korea. These experiences took me completely out of my comfort zone, however I was able to lead lectures (both theory and practical) to cohorts of up to 50 people. My volunteer journey is still continuing and allows me to still take part in the practical aspect in the field of sport and international development.

Operations Coordinator
-
Jun 2019 - Dec 2019
The third half strive to create unique educational football trips for groups around the world. As Operations Coordinator, my main role was to work with different departments to ensure these trips successfully take place. This includes creating pricing models to fit different budgets, communicating with local hosts and working with the sales team to spread the word about the impactful service we are offering. I also worked to build strong, meaningful connections with our partner NGO's through various forms of online communication. I have recently implemented a pre and post survey which will be used to measure the effectiveness of the education workshops delivered during a trip. The results will be used by staff to establish ways we can adapt and improve the curriculum. Within this role I took an active position in helping the company to hopefully achieve BCorp certification within the next year. Through doing this, I have become more aware of how small changes can improve efficiencies within daily operations.

Project Intern
-
Feb 2019 - Sep 2019
As part of my Masters, I undertook a placement with StreetGames. I was primarily involved with the 'London Safer Together through Sport' programme which aimed at reducing violent offences amongst young people in London. The programme involved 6 different NGO's working in various borough around the city. Through this role I was able to attend meetings with the Greater London Authority (GLA) (funders of the programme) to establish the type of support organisations need in order to have a sustainable impact. My main responsibility was to aid the monitoring and evaluation of the programme through conducting case studies and interviews. I was also able to speak with coaches to create recommendations of how each project can achieve it long-term outcomes. The biggest achievement I received through this programme was the interim report I wrote which outlined the success of the programme up to the 6 month mark, and recommendations for the remaining 6 months. My recommendations were then implemented and discussed with the GLA.

During my time at Abat Oliba Loreto, I provided an inclusive and varied physical education programme to children aged 6-12. The role involved me teaching engaging, active lessons in a bilingual school in Barcelona. Communicating with staff who spoke no English was one difficulty I faced in this role, however I overcome this through trialling different ways of communication as well as taking Spanish classes to improve the effectiveness of my teaching.
