While employed by a travel nursing agency, this was my second assignment. The Cardiac Care Unit is a PCU level of care. The typical patient population included a varying range of cardiac issues such as: NSTEMI and STEMI patients both pre and post cardiac cath, A.fib with RVR on diltiazem drips, CHF exacerbation on Lasix and Dobutamine drips and other medical complications including pneumonia and those requiring continuous Bipap. All patients on this unit are telemetry monitored. While employed by a travel nursing agency, this was my second assignment. The Cardiac Care Unit is a PCU level of care. I worked alongside the patient's physicians and provide direction to nursing assistants. I monitor telemetry, mechanical ventilated patients, and titrate medications. I also respond to medical emergencies within the hospitals as part of the Rapid Response team, Stroke code team and Code Blue team. This position has allowed me to float to other hospitals within the Cleveland Clinic system including the Neuro Integrated Unit. These experiences have taught me how to be more flexible and versatile.

On this cardiovascular telemetry unit I performed basic patient care activities. This includes obtaining vital signs, applying a telemetry monitor to the patients, obtaining daily weights, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living and patient transfers/transport. I report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to the RN. I also assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
