When I was executive editor at Teacher Magazine, Kellie was a freelancer who wrote two comprehensive feature articles that demanded exhaustive research, site visits and compelling narratives. She was a delight to work with from the get-go, because she had a genuine interest in the subject matter and offered me different ways in which to tell the stories. The editing process was a smooth one, because Kellie was open to suggested changes and always came back with copy that improved the piece overall. Plus, she was thorough in her factchecking and earned kudos from those she’d interviewed. As Kellie and I have stayed in contact, and travel in similar editorial circles, it’s my understanding that she’s just as talented as an editor and project manager. This is no surprise, considering her diligence, intelligence and appreciation for what’s newsworthy and makes a great story. I can also attest to her refreshing sense of humor. A better colleague you’d be hard-pressed to find.

I was lucky enough to have taken a magazine writing course with Kellie Rowden-Racette at SUNY Plattsburgh. She is an outstanding journalism professor. Let me count the ways... She is very knowledgeable as she has real-world magazine experience. She was incredibly organized with well-planned classes that not only encouraged but promoted creativity with projects that could translate to real world life-lessons in the magazine realm. Going above and beyond, she brought in working professionals to present to our class. That's Kellie. She is a talented and skilled writing professional who also happens to be a genuinely great person. You'll enjoy working with her. I enthusiastically recommend Kellie.

I’ve hired Kellie on numerous occasions and her ability to quickly and adroitly turn around an editorial project cannot be understated. She tears through highly complex subject matter, with a deft approach, delivering a shining gem from an unpolished and stone. You will not be disappointed if you decided bring Kellie on your team.
