In my role as a Deputy Sheriff, I have worked in a few different capacities. Jail: -Ensure safety and security of incarcerated individuals, staff, and the facility with first responder skills-Make quick, critical decisions in a safe and calculated manner-Resolve conflicts, build valuable relationships, and adapt to unexpected incidentsCourthouse Bailiff: -Maintain the safety and security of my judicial staff, coworkers, and keeping order of the audience. -Patrol both the inner and outer perimeters of the Civic Center-Safely transport incarcerated individuals to and from court-Organize court calendars Camp Chance - Cops & Kids Together (2018) -Participated in a week long camp for the at-risk youth in our community. This camp allowed me to build relationships with the youth in my community, and show them that their law enforcement officers are people, too. The sense of belonging and trust that came from that week was truly invaluable.Honor Guard Team Member (2020 - Current)-I take pride in representing my organization at funerals and various law enforcement events. We are entrusted to uphold the values of our organization with the utmost respect.Health & Wellness Pilot Program-I have spent more than four years working to create a safe space for employees to focus on their own health and wellness after recognizing the agency needed a different approach to wellness. -I started as a County liaison Wellness Ambassador promoting the offerings of the county to my agency, and since have helped create an agency specific wellness team, comprised of employees from various divisions within the agency to ensure all voices are heard. As a Sheriff's Cadet, I worked in multiple capacities to learn about the agency as a whole, to include Patrol, Coroner's Office, Communications Division, and Documentary Services, but spent most of my time with the Investigations Division. Within the Investigations unit, I:-Produced excel spreadsheets and reports to layout evidence relating to a high-profile murder investigation -Investigated child abuse cases-Wrote found/stolen property reports -Assisted in executing search warrantsIn other units throughout the agency, I:-Documented information for our Marine Patrol unit-Critical case analysis-Management of documentation and evidence-Host public hiring events -Conduct physical agility testing, oral board interviews, and public safety training days to promote a positive law enforcement image Show less
