Provide protective measures and employ measures to mitigate trespass, theft, fire, personal injuries, criminal incidents, and accidental or willful damage and destruction of property. Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas. Perform foot, and motor patrol. Respond to various calls such as vehicle and person hit and run accidents where very distraught individuals are involved, parking lot rage, suicide threats/attempts, abusive psych patients, restrain patients or family members who are being physically or verbally disruptive, performs searches and interviews of suspects, handle domestic violence within the hospital, etc. Prepare written reports on all incidents and investigation as required. Maintain records and prepare required reports pertaining to security functions, including a daily staff journal. Perform liaison with various installation law enforcement activities. Perform liaison and assistance to civil authorities as required. Assist local police agencies in obtaining information from persons hospitalized who are subjects in civil police and other military police agency investigations. Check sensitive and restricted areas for unauthorized access during both duty and non-duty hours. Ensure drugs and sensitive equipment are secured in compliance with existing regulations.
