Science is a means by which students learn to read, write, and apply math skills. I work to instill this mindset in teachers and administrators across Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties in Western NY State. Scientific literacy is a skill set that is in need of enhancement in our society. I develop and edit curriculum for K-5 teachers to help their students learn science so that they are practicing science skills and doing the things real scientists do everyday, which include literacy and math skills! Science skills also involve collaboration, so teachers are encouraged to help students with communication and other socio-emotional skills so greatly needed in all career fields and in every aspect of our lives!
