Career Shadower

Member of the hospital's career shadow and education program, working with Doctors, PA's, and Nurse Practitioners in the Emergency, Radiology/Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery departments to learn what the varying jobs entail, schooling requirements, patient and co-worker interaction and most importantly, basic medical terminology and procedural understanding. Educational modules highlight the importance of patient confidentiality and HIPAA, hospital codes, patient care standards, safety and sterilization techniques, and emergency management strategies.

Golf Shop Concierge Service

Attended to matters of the golf pro shop, the bag collection room, as well as the golf cart bay and driving range. The job also included meeting and greeting customers, helping set-up golf tournaments, cleaning and categorically organizing golf clubs and carts, and working together with the professionals, assistant professionals, as well as the club manager to represent the country club in an overall positive light. Medical Intern & Rotation Student

Medical shadowing and educational program that blended a class structure with real-world experience. I learned general medical terminology, obtained my CPR-certification, practiced suture insertion and removal using pigs, as well as researched job training and school requirements for a variety of medical careers. For a semester I shadowed general physicians as they made daily patient rounds, dentists and dental assistants that provided cleaning and minor procedures at the Salina Family Healthcare low-income clinic, as well as surgeons throughout the greater Salina area.

Landscape Maintenance & Handyman

General upkeep of the cemetery grounds, including but not limited to, mowing and weed-eating. In my free time I performed small maintenance jobs such as sandblasting, vehicle cleaning and upkeep, applying roofing tar, minor welding projects, etc...
