The purpose of the research was to measure the quantity of Methane produced during particular months of the year in order to analyze the most beneficial times for the cattle owners to capitalize their profit margins in the Methane market. Responsibilities included collecting core samples from multiple cattle pens located at Ordway Farms in Ordway, Colorado. Constructed gas bottles utilizing numerous microbes collected from local waste water treatment facilities. Maintained a detailed log of project critical data and learned the mechanics of a Gas Chromatographer machine in order to determine substances within each mixture. The results from this research were presented to the scientific community and shared with organizations interested in Methane refining. Show less
