A family business based at Bridge House Farm for over 100 years and originally part of Earl Spencer’s estate. Until the mid-eighties the business was focussed on a small arable and poultry unit producing hatching eggs. The return of the current generation brought about a move into nucleus pig production in 1987 which expanded to 600 sows in 1993. Changes in the poultry industry also prompted a return to egg production in the early nineties an expansion into the free-range market in 1996. The Company now farms 30,000 free range birds and 24,000 barn egg layers as well as 22,000 bird site producing replacement pullets. The Arable operation has grown over the years and with recent additions now extends to 2600 acres across 6 farms. We aim to be in the top 10% for yields with a tight control of production costs. Our clients are reassured that our methods of production are sustainable and the soils are at the heart of our decision making processes. Show less
