Keith led Education Services during my time at Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division. His portfolio included in-hospital and remote training, education on compliance issues, and technical consulting for a network of clinicians covering 15,000 clients. He is a tireless worker driven to ensure patient safety by giving healthcare providers tools that work well and consistently. Keith kept Education Services running through a change in business operations that included a change in executive leadership and the implementation of a public oversight board. His department was in especially high demand due to constant improvements and compliance requirements. I admired his management of scarce resources during parts of the transition. His guidance and flexibility allowed the hospital prioritize its most important work, even where that made Keith's job more difficult. I highly recommend Keith for a leadership position that requires holding his reports to high standards. He is an especially good fit for employers who value clear structure and consistent operations.

Keith has been a great client contact for me, in helping with the business needs at his organization. He is responsive via email and helpful in communicating expectations when gathering input from others that need to be involved in conversations about the HealthStream solutions. His knowledge of our learning management system and continued development of the platform for the employees at Milwaukee County Behavioral, shows his commitment to delivering the best training program possible for his organization. It's a lot of work to manage the HealthStream ecosystem, and takes a lot of time to efficiently do so. Keith's proficiency in leveraging the system has been a great success, and is not an easy feat.

Having a long interest in learning and memory, especially expert learning and, upon discovering that acceptance into certain graduate programs provided both income and tuition remission, I successfully competed for 1 of 5 fully funded positions in the UWM graduate psychology program declaring a specialty in cognitive neuroscience. Each semester I taught psychology to 5 sections of 150 undergraduates, developed online educational content and administered instructor records in the D2L learning management system. My thesis involved conducting an fMRI study of humans to evaluate the role of the hippocampus in learning and recall without awareness. Because of the expense and complexity of fMRI studies, the department had never before approved such research by a Master's candidate. My time in the program provided me with deep understanding of qualitative and, quantitative analysis using both univariate and multivariate techniques. My discernment of information and confidence of my assessments improved. I gained great insight into how people learn, excel, succeed or fail based upon a continuum of experience beginning at birth and continuing far into adulthood. Show less

Recruited to the company to get all the computer systems communicating on single network, I succeeded by scaling down the same network, server and storage systems then used by the New York Stock Exchange. Because like the NYSE, we too required 99.9 uptime. My subsequent role was to continuously evaluate existing technology and trends to position the company as the leader in the industry by collecting and analyzing data to identify opportunities for improved quality, new products and enhanced efficiencies. I recommended, planned and executed the conversion of a manual to all digital workflow within a $3 million budget. I instituted a program to retain and retrain existing staff by collaborating with vendors and trade unions to develop skills assessment and continuous training programs. And, I partnered with our technology providers to develop new features to simultaneously support new and improved applications and equipment providing shorter job cycles, simpler intuitive interfaces and reduced operating costs. These improvements effected a 15% reduction in labor cost while increasing capacity by 55%. Later I restructured the bidding process for vendors and instituted a just-in-time resupply program reducing inventory and year over year consumable costs. The same negotiations led to pricing contracts with consumable suppliers to include procurement of capital equipment in the operating budget. Show less

Hired to improve sales of existing services I developed a new marketing and sales strategy and a new corporate identity and advertising campaign to rebrand the company. I also revised the pricing structure to include an allocation for operating and sales expenses. Adopting a consultative sales strategy targeted to senior executives, rather than pitching to low and middle management, which was the common practice in the industry, led to nearly tripling sales revenue in 3 years. At the same time I saw the impact digital imaging had on the lithographic industry and realized it was only a matter of time before higher performance computers would bring digital photographic services to photofinishing. Within a $1.6 million budget I conducted a requirement analysis and feasibility study to establish what would then be the first networked, ultra-high resolution digital imaging workflow in a US photolab.
