I worked with Keith when I was the Director of eStudent Services for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU). My focus in working with Keith and his colleagues (directors of tutoring operations for various MnSCU institutions) was to brainstorm, design, and deploy innovative tutoring strategies/efforts to support student success. Keith was not only a strong participant in these conversations but played a leadership role in bringing our efforts to fruition. One effort in particular that comes to mind, was our annual statewide Tutoring Summit that brought together tutoring leadership and professional tutoring staff from throughout the state. In launching the first Summit, Keith played an important role in envisioning how the event could/should operate then played a pivotal role in logistics, operations, and support. What makes Keith Hagen such a good tutor and advisor is his training and experience as a professional microbiologist, and his years teaching the subject at a college level. Our company recruited Keith's laboratory services for an advanced defense-related sensor R&D project. Keith's background and professionalism were essential in planning and completing the multi-year program and in delivering the results in a technical level all program management could understand.
