    • Year 3 Teacher and whole school Digital Lead
      • Aug 2023 - Present

As a Year 3 teacher, I plan and deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences within an excellent classroom environment. I pride myself on my behaviour management strategies, which are cooperative, firm but fair. These support my student's well being, and to become caring, empathetic and positive individuals. My class is diverse, with EAL children and children requiring special support. I support their needs through purposeful interactions and individualised planning. As a digital lead in a newly created position, I am responsible for the concept generation, vision, research, planning, and implementation of an ambitious iPad project. This is a fantastic challenge that has given me valuable whole-school experience when developing and implementing the Computing Curriculum with newly acquired hardware. I have developed a bespoke curriculum that is vertically aligned and is based on an initial 2-year plan to introduce new units that will take advantage of the new technology in school. I am most excited about the ‘Futures’ units I am developing. The updated curriculum has been developed with both staff and students in mind and the project is planned to be deployed gradually with regular training offered. Show less

In this role I developed exciting STEAM curriculum units which were shared throughout my team and on several occassions I taught in the other classes of the year group. As the first digital lead, I led training for staff on various aspects of the curriculum and I met regularly with KS1 ‘Tech Team’ students to work on promoting a safe digital life. I successfully developed and supported curriculum design in line with school policy. I have also run several successful after-school clubs including KS2 Hockey Club and Year 2 Coding Club. Show less
