I work on my PhD at the Laser Physics and Nonlinear Optics group at the University of Twente. The main focus of the research is to bring hybrid integrated diode lasers to other colours in the visible spectrum. For this 6 month internship I worked in the department of Advanced Research, developing a next generation product of an ultrashort pulsed, high energy laser. Daily tasks involved set-up building, testing and doing experiments in the lab. Also computational modeling on the optics, thermodynamics and stability of the product was performed. Preparing weekly meetings and collaborating with other colleagues was a big part of the workflow. Internship and report were graded with a 9/10 (US: A+). Bracque Speciaalbieren was founded by a group of friends who wanted to raise their homebrewing hobby to a new level. With this start-up we wanted to professionally brew beer and sell it commercially. At the moment our first beer, the Single Blonde, is sold at several pubs and shops in Enschede. With the ambition to grow and expand further in the Netherlands we are continuously looking for new opportunities. In my first periode at Bracque Speciaalbieren I was responsible for Sales and Marketing. Later on, I took the role as chairman in the board. Show less

As the Commissioner External Affairs in the board of study association Arago I was responsible for one of the four pillars of our association, namely Career orientation. In cooperation with partnering companies I created awareness for them under our students. I closed collaboration deals with new companies and renewed a fresh co-operation with our existing partners. During the course of this year I organized multiple events and ensured that students Applied Physics got to know the labor market and their place in it. Show less
