I have taken on a new leadership role at Health Sciences Charter School. I am still actively co-teaching 5 sections of English. My new leadership role is to coordinate all of the special education programming in our school. I serve as a liaison between our school and Buffalo Hearing and Speech as our students receive programming through them. I coordinate quarterly report meetings or data meetings for the Special Education PLC to see what success and challenges are students are having. I also coordinate the testing system for our students to ensure all special education students are receiving their testing accommodations for all of their tests. Lastly, I facilitate and explore professional development opportunities for my Special Education PLC. Show less

I am a co teacher in high school English classrooms grades 9-11. I am responsible for planning and developing the English curriculum with the general education teachers. I am also responsible for modifying lessons for the general education teachers in order to accommodate students with special needs in the classroom. I also have a resource room in which I work with students on their academic goals which are on their Individualized Education Plan. Another part of my job is to amend and write IEPS for students with special needs. After school, I run a Service Club for the school in order for students to meet the 100 hours of service requirement they need in order to graduate from High School. I also work as a mentor to first year teachers. Show less
