I worked with Keegan for nearly 6 years at Gearbox. I started off already impressed by the talent shown in his portfolio and that admiration has only grown from there. Keegan is a top notch graphic designer and illustrator, and those skills were on full display for Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. He took it upon himself to re-design and polish the gameplay HUD for BL3 and his contributions are a large part of the reason that game shipped looking as good as it did. From large and complex menus down to tiny icons, Keegan put thoughtful effort into everything he touched. Keegan made my life easy as a manager. He asked good questions in feature kick-off meetings, took feedback without ego and was a great help collaborating during the creation of UI style guidelines. He learned new tools and processes very quickly, and I could count on him to help out others whenever he could. From initial concept all the way through to implementation and polish, Keegan can handle the entire UI pipeline process. He'd be a great asset to any team.

I’ve worked with Keegan for his entire time at Gearbox (he started 3 months after me). He is an exceptional talent. Brilliant artist and has a great critical eye. A great coworker and became a forever friend. Very kind and thoughtful. Any company would be lucky to have him.

I act as an agency point of contact, working with client stakeholders to establish and provide high quality UI art styles and assets for their game needs. Once the client and I have aligned on the vision for the UI, I work with a team of artists and designers to execute on providing everything from low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity concepts and motion comps, all the way to game ready assets and implementation support. Internally I'm also helping to grow the team, provide mentorship to junior artists, provide documentation for processes and implementation, and help improve best practices of the studio. When I'm not leading a client project, I'm acting a Senior Artist and Designer, closely collaborating with other Leads to help with the needs of their project. Working as a part of the UI and Art teams, I create art assets such as icon and decal graphics, and animated UI/UX mockups in After Effects to help better visualize the look and feel of the UI for the team. I have seen and experienced firsthand what the pipeline is like with working on a AAA game, and what all goes on with bringing a game towards completion.

I was introduced to a productive work environment surrounded by experienced and proven industry professionals, and had the amazing chance to see what a game looks like in the early stages and how it changes throughout development. I assisted the team in various departments such as preliminary concept development, UI graphics support, experimenting in visual effects in Unity, along with basic 3D modelling in 3ds Max and texture mapping in Marmoset Toolbag.
