Through my role at Motion Fitness as a yoga instructor, I have had the opportunity to work with many different age groups with varying fitness levels. I have been able to assist clients in working through trauma in their bodies caused by injury through mindful and pace appropriate yoga practices. I continue to grow y knowledge in the practice of yoga by attending training's and by practicing multiple forms of yoga. I believe that my passion for people and wellness shines through in the classes that I have the opportunity to teach at Motion Fitness. Show less

Through this role, I provide education on healthy relationships and domestic violence to school aged children, women experiencing domestic violence as well as community members. I facilitate healthy relationships groups for women experiencing domestic violence with optional monthly drop-in groups to provide support, community and connection to women. I facilitate school presentations to grades two, five, junior high school students and high school aged students with the drive to end domestic violence through educating about the signs of abuse and available resources within the Foothills region. In my role at Aspen Family Community Support Network, I provide support within three group homes to youth aged eleven to seventeen. Through my role as a youth support worker, my duty is to work through a trauma informed lens to provide an effective transition process for the youth that I work with. Many of the youth that I work with have adverse childhood experiences and through my role, I strive to assist each individual in a unique way to support their goals for transitioning out of the group home and into alternative placements such as foster homes, supportive living or back to their paternal home environments. As a youth support worker, I work from a client centered focus to support each individual need of the youth. I have gained experience in working with youth who struggle with addiction, suicidal ideation, self esteem and attachment disorders. Through this role, I have had many opportunities to strengthen and build more skills by being involved in training offered through Aspen such as non-violent crisis intervention, self-harm awareness training, opioid crisis intervention training and more. Through my practicum placement with the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society, I had the opportunity to work within an organization that strives to educate the public on safe pregnancy as well as fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. In my time with this company, I created educational PowerPoint for school aged children about brain development as well as drug safety and FASD awareness. I also worked at community events spreading the awareness of FASD and how to support individuals with FASD. I had the opportunity to attend a diagnosis meetings for potential clients and experienced the assessment process with a diagnostic team for a child. I assisted in running groups for caregivers to children with FASD. Show less
