Waltham Partnership for Youth is a nonprofit working to develop cross-sector partnerships to address local inequities and improve outcomes for youth. -Responsible for strategy, operations, fundraising and development, budget, program development, personnel, partnerships, communications, and impact management. -Spearheaded development of two core program areas. 1. Created the Career Exploration and Training (CET) program in response to needs identified by local teens and youth service providers. Researched programs in other communities to define program structure with significant focus on low income students of color. Developed and shaped partnerships with dozens of employers, ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Secured state Youth Works contract as the program grew to become one of the state’s largest paid high-school internship programs. 2. Drove development of Wraparound Waltham, a multi-agency initiative that provides holistic, wraparound supports to newcomer students and families with the goal of increasing graduation rates among immigrant students. The program was developed using research-based best practices and input from the community and social service agencies. Secured multi-year $1.2M grant for a program that served 135 students in 2022 with 96% of participants making academic progress. -Grew the organization from 1.5FTEs to 10 FTEs with a focus on building a team that reflects the ethnic, linguistic, and racial diversity of students served. -Built a steady donor base and secured major grants and contracts to expand the annual operating budget from $250K to $1.3M. -Overhauled employee handbook and HR policies with an emphasis on DEI and fostering a healthy work environment that prioritizes staff wellness.
