During the time I worked with Kayson as an undergraduate, he took several classes from me so I have become very familiar with his approach to graphic design and his creative process. In each course Kayson excelled, and often went above and beyond in effort and production. Kayson was a very bright and intelligent, hard-working student, his work reflected his focus on critical thinking, problem solving, and creative thinking. In each of the courses Kayson took from me, I was impressed with the critical thinking and meticulous approach of his work. For example, in the Advanced Typography course, where other students became satisfied or apathetic at the level of a project Kayson would consistently push his work to a higher level and methodically working through the relationships and interactions of each letter he created. These characteristics showed up across all the courses that I had with Kayson. He holds his work to a high standard and puts in the time, effort, and research, to make sure that he can achieve that standard. One of our initial projects from our Interaction Design Course was to create a prototype music player. While other students would add complexity or cliche widgets, Kayson dove deep into understanding the UI/UX elements and standards from various examples to really try to understand how to design successfully with minimalism. Our department is definitely lucky to have had such a talented, intelligent, professional student.

Kayson is a talented graphic designer that looks for efficient ways to accomplish his tasks and hit deadlines. He has a good work ethic and is able to take direction and run with a project. If I had a full-time graphic designer position I would not hesitate to hire Kayson. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
