Nannying and tutoring students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds, I have had experience in providing for their daily needs as well as using opportunities to encourage growth even in our limited time together. With Covid-19, I have had several opportunities to support students' at-home learning. Substitute Teacher
-
Dec 2020 - Sep 2022
As a substitute teacher with Kirkwood School District, I have had a variety of opportunities to work in several different educational roles. During the winter of 2020-21, I subbed long-term, working full hours in elementary and middle school levels. In my typical day, I would follow a plan provided to me by administration detailing my various duties as either a classroom teacher, teaching assistant, or specialist. I have had several opportunities to problem solve and brainstorm ideas to help support students' learning. Through this experience, I have been able to make several connections with other colleagues in my district. Show less

The 1818 Program is a college credit program which is given to high school students in their various schools. A part of my role is to communicate registration deadlines, payments, transcripts, and grades with students and parents. As one of my big projects, I created a database for contacts for all the schools in the St. Louis Area. Summer School Teacher
-
May 2020 - Aug 2020
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I worked with a team of teachers and teaching assistants to continue summer education for immigrant and refugee students of ages ranging from three up to fifteen. We collaborated to create ideas to educate students in a socially distanced manner in an outdoor environment. Four days a week we practiced strategies and problem solving to initiate growth in each individual student.
